Rubber: S72 is a high-friction rubber, developed and tested by Scarpa. Scarpa has cleverly welded rand rubber between the soft toe patch and sticky sole unit to reinforce the front of the shoes. This added durability helps prevent an early blowout of the toe ends which is a common trait with novice climbers whilst they are still honing their foot placement skills. The sole unit can also be resoled.
